Ireland Tours with Kitty
Launched over a decade ago, the Inishfree Irish Music Tours grow more popular every year and often sell out many months ahead of their scheduled dates.
The 2018 Ireland tour was again, spectacular. It included my first visit to Northern Ireland, the city of Derry/Londonderry, depending on who you’re asking ~ and it was very moving. And again we heard wonderful music from both locals and national acts. A major highlight for me was being joined on ‘The Lark in the Morning’ by John Doyle, Cathie Jordan and Rick Epping.
Now the bad news ~ the 2019 trip is already SOLD OUT. There’s a slight chance that I could be given another one for next season, tho, and it couldn’t hurt to contact Inishfree Tours and ask.
Imagine you on a comfortable bus filled with 20+ other wonderful, friendly folks, riding on the backroads of the West Coast of Ireland, stopping at little seaside towns for lunch, walking in the waves of a hidden cove, seeing fairy rings, stone circles, and stunning scenery every day for 10 full days. Then imagine you resting up at your small family hotel, eating dinner (some of the best seafood you’ll ever taste!), then spending the evening listening to fabulous, authentic traditional Irish music ~ drinking Guiness, whiskey, or other libations, if such is your pleasure. Imagine being in Ireland for 10 days/9 nights and not seeing ONE McDonald’s, Target, Burger King, Walmart, strip mall…or having to remember to ‘stay left’ when you’re on the road, because you’re not driving!
Enjoy this photo slideshow of some memorable moments on previous tours!
The Irishman's Daughter
Here’s the basic info on joining us in Ireland!
(please note there’s a slight price increase for 2019)
We spend three days each in Ireland’s western counties, all on the gorgeous, wild West Coast of Ireland. We spend three nights in the same B & B or hotel before moving on ~ which means you don’t have to pack your bags every morning to get them back on the bus!
Inishfree Tours pride themselves on being ‘tours for people who hate tours,’ and they mean it. If you don’t feel you want to go on one of the day trips, you don’t have to. You’re free to hang out in town, go to a tearoom, read, get to know the locals in the pub down the road or watch sheep. The day trips are always amazing and informative, and again, the music is outstanding, every single night. And as a side note for me, at least, is the lifelong friendships formed on each trip. Three from the 2015 tour became great friends and returned together for 2016.
Costs for the 2019 trip are $2,500 for a shared room, $3,000 for a room of your own. (A limited availability of singles). That fee includes all 9 nights lodging, all hearty breakfasts, 3 group dinners, entry fees to all parks, museums, etc. ~ and your reserved spot for the evening music. The fee does not include your air fare, remaining meals, Guiness or souvinirs. A deposit of 1/3 holds your spot for the trip with the remaining 2/3 spread out over two more payments in the remaining months until the trip.
It may seem early to be booking the 2019 tour, but the trips tend to book up early ~ and some of them are already sold out.
To sign up send me an email and I’ll get the ball rolling or go directly to the Inishfree Tours website.
